Well it has around 5-6 drives (16 bays total) totaling about 3TB or so. But I just got some SSDs I’m going to test also. That said, this is just to test it for now on the M3. The M4 it will get deployed on, if I end up using Harvester (which I plan on absent any issues), will have 16 2.5” SAS drives and the RAM will move from the M3 to the M4.
Refurbished 1TB 2.5" SAS drives go for about $9-$11 these days, so buying 16 of them is not out of budget and I do have a raid controller in the box. I still need to learn more about Longhorn (which I presume might want to see the disks presented in a pass-through manner absent the intercession of the RAID controller creating any arrays).
