Node stuck in provisioning state with error

while trying to re-create a node on rancher provisioned vmware cluster: 1. deleted old ingress-dedicated worker node from cluster 2. automatic re-provisioning started and got stuck at

3. looking at the logs of rancher, seeing the following error:

[ERROR] NodeController c-8ztsw/m-mv9gr [rke-worker-upgrader] failed with : getNodePlan error for node [m-mv9gr]: failed to find plan for 10.255.32.11

that repeats over and over. this error is related to the node that is being re-recreated Have done this many-many times in the past without any issues. rancher version 2.4.5 -> 2.4.7, kubernetes 1.17.5 ?
