Do you have any environment variables starting with
DOCKER_
, e.g.
DOCKER_HOST
? If yes, can you unset them and try again
Also, does the GUI show any progress messages, or does it look like it finished initializing?
c
No env variables starting with DOCKER...%, also the gui does not finish the progress. I will check again to confirm the correct messages, but I think it keeps alternating between starting kubernetes and initializing rancher desktop, depending if I have enable kube or not.
Don't know if this helps, but I have seen a few errors related to cgroup like this one: "time="2023-10-02T125433Z" level=fatal msg="failed to find memory cgroup, you may need to add \"cgroup_memory=1 cgroup_enable=memory\" to your linux cmdline (/boot/cmdline.txt on a Raspberry Pi)"" I fully removed WSL and all distros, factory reset Rancher Desktop, reinstalled everything and it persists
f
Could you please file a Github issue about this (including error message above, or better full logs)? I wonder if this is related to WSL 2.0.0.0, and if something changed that reinstalling 1.2.5.0 didn't undo. Someone will have to try to repo this.
