Rancher is deployed via helm on top of kubernetes cluster. For kubernetes; you have RKE2, RKE2 and k3s. RKE1 requires docker, where as RKE2 and k3s does not. If you have not already join community.suse.com and there are several webinars that can help you get started. There used to be (perhaps still is) a Rancher youtube channel.
