Thank you very much! I was looking at that cli but it has a dependency on Rancher Desktop, right? That is, with this CLI I can start the rancher service and make docker.sock available?

@fancy-solstice-60826 Rancher and Rancher-Desktop are two different things

Now, sorry, I’m new to this topic of containers and virtualization, I’ll tell you a little about what I need to see if there is an alternative. What I want is to package rancher inside another application to make portable the fact of running that app’s own containers, then when this app is executed, rancher will start and the docker socket that I need to create several containers will be created. What I need from rancher is to be able to start the virtual machine and for the docker.sock to be created to be able to communicate with it. this for both windows, linux and mac. Will Rancher work for that?
b
@fancy-solstice-60826 is this just for development, or a production thing? I use Rancher-Desktop just for firing up containers to test.
f
it’s for development only
b
@fancy-solstice-60826 Then I would suggest Rancher-Desktop then. https://rancherdesktop.io/ You should also look at joining the SUSE & Rancher Community as there are lots of traning sessions, blogs etc https://community.suse.com/
