The Longhorn product is a rancher application and it's presence is the menu is explicitly built in. Good news though, you can create custom side nav sections with links, just like Longhorn, by creating CRDs. See https://rancher.com/docs/rancher/v2.6/en/admin-settings/branding/#custom-navigation-links for docs. I think in either 2.6.4 or the next 2.6.5 release there's a form to help create the CRD.

, will have worked the same way for a while. I think the side-nav crd method came in recently (after similar requests like yours)
