Ok, so this is weird. On the node I can use

kubectl

just fine but as soon as I scp

/etc/rancher/k3s/k3s.yaml

to my desktop (and edit the server setting to point to the server name instead of localhost) I get this error:

Unable to connect to the server: x509: certificate signed by unknown authority
