we upgraded our Rancher from 2.13.3 to 2.14.3 and it appears this killed the rancher-system-agent service on ALL nodes on ALL of our downstream clusters.
The problematic behavior is described in github.com/rancher/rancher/issues/56013 , since /v3/connect/agent is not responding, the rancher2_connection_info.json got replaced with an empty file on all downstream cluster nodes.

I see the bug also says upgrade from 2.13.3 to 2.14.3

07/21/2026, 2:40 PMNew version of rancher includes new version of rancher-system-agent install script that will not write an empty connection info file. But you need to get there first, and until the upgrade is complete you may be hit by it, and need to manually fix the nodes.
