Hm. Maybe when it wasn't enabled in the list?
t
I am fairly certain it is the BIOS on my AMD box. I popped the cards into a intel box and everything worked as expected.
b
nvidia.com makes me think it's the audio card on your graphics
t
card worked perfectly on my 1u intell
b
But from the Harvester side... Advanced > PCI Devices
when you pop
10de
into the filter.
t
it all shows up on both amd and intell.
b
Are all the devices showing as Enabled?
t
yes
b
Hm.
Gemini seems to think this: > his error occurs because Harvester (and the underlying KubeVirt technology) uses an allowlist to manage which hardware devices can be assigned to Virtual Machines. Even if the hardware is physically present, Harvester will block the passthrough unless the specific device name is explicitly permitted in the cluster configuration. > To resolve this, you need to update the PCI Host Devices settings in the Harvester dashboard. > > Step-by-Step Resolution > 1. Identify the Resource Name From your error message, the resource name Harvester is looking for is:
<http://nvidia.com/AD106M_HIGH_DEFINITION_AUDIO_CONTROLLER|nvidia.com/AD106M_HIGH_DEFINITION_AUDIO_CONTROLLER>
> 2. Navigate to Settings > Log in to the Harvester UI. > Go to Advanced > Settings in the left-hand sidebar. > Locate the setting named
pcidevices-allowlist
.
> 3. Edit the Allowlist > Click the ⋮ (three dots) and select Edit Setting. > You will see a JSON configuration. You need to add your device to the
pciHostDevices
array.
> Look for the vendor ID and device ID for your NVIDIA Audio Controller (usually
10de
for NVIDIA).
> 4. Update the Configuration Your entry should look something like this inside the
pciHostDevices
list:
Is filled with lies.
But I would have thought it wouldn't show in that list from the screenshot if that was the case.
Recently I've had to disable/enable some devices more than once and refresh the page because cache was lying to me.
Also recently, I had to have the audio card and video enabled, but only pass through the video card. (We have weirdness with multiple cards in the same box that was the cause)
t
I think this is either AMD, or the bios in the Minisforum MS-A2.
r
I have met this many times. Check list of devices (yaml). Probably multiple times same device (or bogus device)
t
what was the fix? Remove the extra lines?
r
yes.
t
Just tried that. something adds them back.
r
you need to stop VM
otherwise it won't update
t
I stopped and started. I rebuilt each time. I even tested 1.7.1 and there immou errors.
r
It might be different issue. After every (re)start I need to manually remove ghost rows that Harvester creates...
t
that is crazy
