Posted my workaround that got us unblocked. Not sure if this will help anyone else or not. https://github.com/harvester/harvester/issues/10522#:~:text=Workaround%20and%20Mitigation

Is there anyone from the Harvester Dev team here?
There are, but typically volunteer time here. I don't blame them for not wanting to work during the weekend.
a
Tecccchnically true. Message was for work dayyyys. Posted for awareness if they wanted to DM

I'm gonna say something that I hope doesn't hurt your feelings, but I feel like it needs to be said. The whole point of having community chat/support is so that the Community contributes. I 100% have been where you are, and in the past have made very similar statements, so please know I'm not trying to put you in particular on on blast or anything. A form of this conversation was said to me at some point in my past.
When you start off a statement with "Is there anyone from the Harvester Dev team here?" You exclude almost all of rest of the community. Most people would say I'm not a Harvester Dev, this isn't for me and they stop there.
a
Seriously dude? This?
b
There's almost 2k people in the channel and you've excluded almost all of them.
Ya my man
a
If it makes you feel better ๐Ÿ™‚
b
Like if you want to DM the devs, that's what paid support is for.
Go pay for open communication with the devs.
a
Or quit harassing me? Lol ๐Ÿ˜‚
b
It's not really about that, it's about being part of the actual community?
a
You could've DMed me
But you blasted me anyway ๐Ÿ˜…
It's cool. Message received
Appreciate the feedback
It's almost 11pm for me. Turning in soon
Also I didn't @ channel so it would not have pinged 2000+ ppl. Only those that have notifications turned on or settings fine tunes for keywords
I didn't even @ here
b
You don't need to at the channel, but the question is posed in a way that you only are looking to hear from the devs
a
So again. Thanks for the blast and message received
:)
b
Which say like you're not interested in getting help from any of the other smart people that aren't on the payroll?
That's what I'm trying to point out.
Like community support means we're all in this together, but we're not being a great community if we just throw everything at Suse without paying them for it.
a
That's odd, I thought rancher runs this slack? I've worked with their employees in the terraform channel no issues.
b
Yeah, and the devs 100% show up and answer questions
Suse == Rancher
a
And you assume I don't pay for support.
I've updated my post. I can see your perception that you've pointed out.
