Check how much disk space there is on
/var/lib
inside the VM, e.g.
❯ rdctl shell df -h /var/lib
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/disk/by-label/data-volume
                         97.9G 63.7G 29.2G 69% /mnt/data
The size should be around 100G and it should be mounted on
/mnt/data
. If it is 6G (or whatever memory size you selected), then it is still part of the tmpfs. Anything written in the current session will be gone, but the other data should come back by simply restarting Rancher Desktop.

I tried restarting a couple of times, no dice. I then factory resetted since I was going to start over anyway. Didn't check the disk space before resetting. The data wiping has not reoccured since yesterday.
