Outch. 2.14 is quite late. Not everybody will be able to migrate to 2.14 in 4 months. 2.13 isn't even available yet. And Harvester is tied to a specific Rancher version, which would mean that Harvester 1.6.1 users won't get this feature early enough. Please consider a backport!

This means that you won't let prime customers down, would you? Judging from the Harvester lifecycles, you guys need to backport this feature down to Rancher 2.11...

Haven't really followed the harvesters release cycle, but at least Rancher side as mentioned by Brad we would probably backport to older minors. I'm not sure where we stand with 2.11 though, given from today it's EOM. There will be more news coming from SUSE soon, i think via a blog post.

That's EOL, not EOM. Harvester 1.5 is EOM in 30 Dec 2025, so not far out from Rancher 2.11 EOM. Though I think it's best to wait for the official advice

I guess prime customers would "love" to see you making this kind of difference. I am no prime customer (I'm just a partner), if I was I'd be a bit disappointed. But I agree, let's wait for official statements.

OK. Thanks! This makes clear, that Traefik will be the official replacement. Good. But this document is only about v1.35. Which will probably only be supported by Rancher 2.14. Sadly there is nothing about older RKE2 versions. I expect older RKE2 versions also to have the same traefik features... or the same traefik version (I didn't check though).
