I'm running some POC just to prove that its possible
i want to create iso images using elemental and deploy as VMs in other hypervisors like Proxmox / HyperV / Qemu
i have a rancher instance and i went with the default config:
1- registered an endpoint (just added name and clicked create)
2- went on the Create iso image menu
selected: endpoint iso SL Micro 6.0 ISO v2.1.3-5.4 - linux/x86_64
3- downloaded the image
created VMs in Proxmox server
tried to create clusters
the clusters came up pretty fast but they became unstable with the following issues
I would appreciate some guidance

11/13/2025, 2:22 PMHi there. I think this needs to be investigated on the workload cluster directly. Do you have access to it? If you can ssh into the control plane node, you can use the CLI tools to investigate.
It feels like the cattle-cluster-agent pod on the workload cluster is not starting correctly

11/13/2025, 2:23 PMor maybe the nodes are not bootstrapping correctly, you may want to check the rke2-server logs on each node

11/13/2025, 2:26 PMalso which version of the Elemental operator are you using? latest 1.7 release should make use of SL Micro 6.1 images, see: https://elemental.docs.rancher.com/channels#available-channels
you may have more success with a more recent image
