No. Kubernetes events are hardcoded to expire after 24h. This is not configurable, in rancher or elsewhere.

Oh, okay. That's weird because a host became notready (I assume) 6 hours ago. It caused some VMs to restart. But I can find no events for either the host or on the VMs to tell me what happened at that moment.

Erm sorry, 1 hour. Not 1 day. Logs on the node would be the best place to look. Events are not meant to be detailed or long term. They just tell you something happened. Logs have the full details.
