Has anyone experienced this, where Rancher Desktop initializes indefinitely. See the image below. Is this just the UI not receiving an event, because I didn't have the window open at the time.

No, it means the backend is not starting up properly. If you don't care about the VM contents, then I would do a factory reset to see if that clears it up.
