Anyone else stuck on ‘waiting for notes’ in 1.6.0 on macOS (Ventura beta 22A5373b) Main error I noticed is in server.log:
2022-10-18T11:12:22.502Z: Auth failure: user/password validation failure for attempted login of user interactive-user
I had upgraded from 1.5.1, but have done a factory reset of rancher desktop
I can’t seem to edit the post, but I of course meant ‘waiting for nodes’ !

I’m having the same problem. I somehow managed to make it work yesterday, but today it’s broken again.

kubernetes 1.23.12 and administrative access disabled got it working for me

I just tried again today - now on 1.6.1 & macos 13.1 beta but still doesn’t start
^ just to revive this thread - not working on 1.6.1 either. ventura specific perhaps?
Ah found https://github.com/rancher-sandbox/rancher-desktop/issues/3288 - workaround of using k8s 1.23 at least allows use of k8s now. thanks I hadn’t thought it was k8s version specific as the result had been broken container daemon too.

hello I too struggle with 1.6.1 on MacOS Ventura both x86_64 and arm64
on x86_64 I have been able to get it to work somehow
it had been stuck when I let the Rancher Desktop start right from the install workflow
for example rdctl shell etc all blocked
the logs indicated that the VM comes up fine, but networking is struggeling
now .. when I kill the qemu process and start the vm with rdctl start it has worked (a couple of times)
on x86_64 I ended up installing rancher desktop with manually cleaned filesystem • /opt/rancher-desktop/ • ~/Library/Application\ Support/rancher-desktop/ deleted prior install …
on arm64 I migrated Rancher Desktop 1.5.1 to 1.6.1
as this seems to be local routing / connectivity related I started looking if I find some logs
for example
brctl log
(base) MacBook-Pro:Downloads frank$ brctl log

Is there a way to install rancher desktop on a headless box? Say, to run integration tests?
