I would start with upgrading to harvester 1.5

b
I wouldn't. 1.5 might be great, but it's not
stable
There's a big warning on the docs about how only
stable
releases are supported and other releases may not have an upgrade path forward. For prod clusters, I'd stick to the official releases just to make sure you always have a path forward and don't find yourself stuck.
t
The stable tag is just becuase their qa is not the best.. FYI https://github.com/harvester/harvester/releases/tag/v1.4.3
Also 1.5.1 is at rc4. so it will be out soon. And the reason i recommend upgrading is they squash about 30-45 bugs each release.
b
but they'll test upgrades from 1.4.3 to 1.5.1 when it probably hits stable.
t
they will.
b
There was a thing where 1.3.0 had a major bug and users who upgraded to it had a terrible time.
people who waited just went from 1.2.x to 1.3.x and skipped the headache.
t
i hear ya. but it is trade off. squash known vs new bugs.
b
Not saying that'll happen with 1.5.0, but you never know.
t
this is a tale as old as time…….
as a former employee the engs have done a great job fixing and improving. I am comfortable with .0 releases, for prod I would wait for a .1
b
Spending my Juneteenth with support today instead of having it off, so yeah...
t
good thing you bought support!
b
I'm a collector apparently:
glitch crab 1
t
ouch. good luck
b
Out of curiosity, how would you rate the support? Worth what you have to pay for it?
b
I'll say my group is weird. So our issues probably aren't where a lot of people would tag in support vs. not. That being said, having delt with a lot of big businesses with paid support Suse is better than most.
