05/16/2025, 4:58 PM1st Question: Is Rancher desktop using QEMU or Apple Virtualization Framework in M4? also how is it getting QEMU onto VM is it installing on the M4 or downloading and using from command line or is LIMA getting it? I noticed QEMU is not installed and Lima is not installed on my M4 still after installing it does not work and seems that a newer version of QEMU may required github and build install of QEMU so I am interested in knowing how SUSE is getting QEMU and Lima on its VM?

05/16/2025, 5:11 PMRancher Desktop includes internal versions of both QEMU and Lima. They are not directly user-accessible and should not interfere with the user installing their own (possibly different) versions of them.
Changing the vm type can be done through preferences: Emulation (macOS) | Rancher Desktop Docs
