can you set a context if k8s isn't running?
a
no idea. new to k8s

Here's what I found....the rancher-desktop context wasn't available until the first time kubernetes was run. Once it was run, I disabled kubernetes, waited for it to stop, and the context was still available. Granted I'm running with containerd vs dockerd, but I'm not sure that matters. I would try to enable kubernetes, let it start up and then stop it if you don't want it running.
