There is not enough information in the screenshot to tell what really went wrong. Note the "logfiles" link in the dialog, which would bring you to the actual log directory.
Are you perhaps behind a corporate proxy that intercepts https traffic? You may need to install a company cert to make that work. But I'm just guessing here.

Happens in the office and at home(vpn off). Attached part of the lima.log right before the error, no errors prior to that. If that's not enough let me know. Thanks.
f
Do you have any important images in the VM, or can you do a factory-reset. Or try a kubernetes reset first.
t
tried that already, same result
also tried uninstalling, doing cleanup per the doc, and reinstalling.
f
Sorry, no idea. Maybe the complete logs will help, but I don't know. At least it might help to locate where the error happens. I'm going to upgrade a 22.04 VM and test the new 1.18 release on it, but I suspect it is something about your local config.
t
I'll dig through all the logs, get back if I find anything.
f
As expected, everything worked fine for me on Ubuntu 22.04
t
perhaps you've heard this before but "It's me, not you"
should I find a resolution I'll let you know what it was
f
Thanks! Sorry I don't have any suggestions

Found this upon further digging:
E0220 07:54:02.450485 40922 memcache.go:265] "Unhandled Error" err="couldn't get current server API group list: Get \"<https://127.0.0.1:6443/api?timeout=32s>\": tls: failed to verify certificate: x509: cannot validate certificate for 127.0.0.1 because it doesn't contain any IP SANs"
Just not sure how to resolve.
