so hostresolver is used on all platforms last i checked. So it handles DNS differently than just exposing the external host to the VM. I think https://docs.rancherdesktop.io/ui/preferences/wsl/network/#networking-tunnel is on by default as well so are you sure it's only DNS and not all network?

yes. by changing /etc/resolv.conf manually, then it works fine

you could try and use settings.json to disable hostresolver so that it doesn't try and intercept your DNS activity. It's there because of issues w VPNs, but maybe your env or other security controls sees it's activity as a bit suspect.
