is there an option to run OracleDB XE in a container? Last time I checked (about 4-years ago) to run Oracle DB in a container it required an Oracle Linux but maybe things have changed?
s
I think so because I managed to do this few years ago in another laptop. But there is details that are provided by Oracle and Docker communities so, I maybe there is a possibility to do for Rancher as well.
c
so wait you want to run Rancher on your laptop?
s
Yes, Rancher with Oracle XE and I already managed to do that. Thanks @clever-analyst-23771
c
You are brave, I run my on a NUC, with RKE2 and that is the ONLY k8s cluster i manage the old way.
s
NUC/RKE2 looks good, but what Oracle container are you using? @clever-analyst-23771
c
for me? I am all in with SLE BCI. I don't use any other container images if i don't have to. I am trust issues. https://registry.suse.com/

Great! I would work for me for my personal repos. Once I have the access to the artifactory repo at work I will start with Ranch and Oracle Container but at Silicon CPU, I guess there is a issue and I need to turn off k8s on Rancher, isn't it?
c
is it a private artifactory repo?
s
that's it
