Afterwards it will be related to the cluster or namespace, here those are global groups along all clusters iirc
p
i want one role that i can assign to multiple clusters
p
I think its in the role template afterwards
And then you have to assign it in the clusters
Dont quote me on that im not using roles but scouting around thats why i remember
b
Hi @polite-alarm-96476 I’m logged as an admin via Okta SAML provider and I created a global role, which appears on the bottom part of groups (check screenshot)
m
I have the same issue, I want to assign a custom 'Cluster' Role to an Azure AD group, not a Global Role, but maybe that is just not possible the way I think it works
b
Inside of a cluster (ex: local) -> projects/namespaces, if you edit or create one of those you can assign a custom
project-namespace-role
, as per screenshots
For clusters, when creating/editing a cluster, there a tab on
Cluster Configuration
called
Member Roles
. Here you can add members and also you can assign custom
cluster-roles
, as per screenshots
@most-memory-45748 you can only assign custom
global roles
to groups.
cluster roles
are in cluster edit
project/namespace roles
are in project/namespace edit
m
Ah that makes more sense, the documentation doesn't specify this in such a distinct way
p
i found what we need
b
Oh, I had forgotten about that one 😅 good catch @polite-alarm-96476
p
maybe an update on the docs would be great....

Global Roles: Assigned to a user/group globally Cluster Roles: Assigned to a user/group in a cluster Project/Namespace Roles: Assigned to a user/group in a project, namespace in weird ways
