It should be trivial to get images to pull from a private registry, either by explicitly sourcing the images from there, or by using a mirror via registries.yaml

I'm using registries.yaml file for mirroring but there is an issue with digests when in pod manifest images is referanced with it

That sounds like perhaps an issue with your mirror?
