Hey @quaint-airline-20784, @strong-shoe-72392 👋 , yes, the elemental UI is available by default only on Prime now. The plan for Elemental is that it stays with Rancher, all the versions, so "community" and "Prime". Right now the only difference is that the elemental-ui plugin is missing by default from the Rancher "community" versions (all the ui-plugins are missing from Rancher "community", this is not only for Elemental, it has been a change in Rancher). All the other Elemental pieces are fully available. I wouldn't exclude in the future we could differentiate the Rancher "community" vs "Prime" Elemental versions in some other ways and have the elemental-ui back one click away in all the Rancher versions... but I don't think this is going to happen anytime soon honestly.

Thanks for the info @many-tiger-3407. I do hope that serious thought/consideration is given to what is moved behind Prime. It takes a tremendous amount of effort/time to design solutions using some of this technology, and if it suddenly exists only behind a paywall that can be very problematic. The UI plugin extension available by default - no big deal. But if other parts of Elemental functionality go that way too, that is a concern.

Thanks for the feedback @strong-shoe-72392: there is no plan to move away any Elemental functionality from Rancher. One thing you may expect to change in the future is the base OS images made available (the Elemental OS channels). IMHO, that should be the right differentiation between Elemental "community" and "Prime", something like what already happens with SUSE Linux vs Opensuse Linux distros: a channel with OS images based on SUSE Linux for Rancher Prime and one channel based on Opensuse Linux for Rancher "Community" (or even based on other distros). Anyway, there is nothing in progress right now, so even this is something we are just thinking about.
