Sadly I’ve only tested up to v1.28 I have noticed on prior RKE1 upgrades when my K8s version was newer than the last CSI release it would crash loop.

I have exact same issue... Upgraded RKE2 1.28.11 to 1.28.12 and vsphere-csi is now in crashloop this is a rancher deployed cluster

and in the UI, it does not give me option to downgrade back to 1.28.11 - it is grayed out... Rancher 2.8.6

seems it was an compatibility issue with vsphere 6.7 we upgraded vmware to 7.0 and the issues went away, now on 1.30
