is there a way to make longhorn restore from backup with the correct/a custom volumeMode? when I restore volumes that were

volumeMode=Block

, I get a volume with

volumeMode=Filesystem

, which appears to cause issues getting these volumes mounted by a downstream rke2 cluster that uses longhorn csi

Longhorn volume restoration has no relationship with

volumeMode

. It’s totally controlled by the PVC that is using the restored volume.

I see. If I had a PVC with volumeMode: block, then delete that PVC with associated PV/volume, then restore the volume from backup, I get a longhorn volume with volumeMode: filesystem when I tell longhorn to create PVC/PV for that restored volume. There doesn’t appear to be a way to get longhorn to make that object volumeMode: block
