That seems rather odd; Rancher Desktop does its own setup to make sure the service exists.
It downloads k3s and sets it up automatically; you shouldn't need to deal with
<http://get.k3s.io|get.k3s.io>
manually.
s
Right. I tried to install Rancher desktop. But there is error about k3s. So I try to set up k3s. I checked file which k8s.log about below. Cache at /Users/-/Library/Caches/rancher-desktop/k3s is valid. I think is k3s is OK. But I don't know why there is an error.
p
The cache being invalid would just make us re-download the files; it shouldn't cause an error.
Not sure why you'd
rc-service: service 'k3s' does not exist
though — that sounds like something went pretty wrong halfway through the initial setup.
I assume you're not doing any non-standard configuration? (The question is silly, but I responded recently to somebody who wanted to replace the base OS the VM runs on…)
s
😅 I use mac M1. I downloaded Download Mac (Apple Silicon). Rancher.Desktop-1.5.0.aarch64.dmg I just install that.
There is nothing except installing.
I try to re-install after reset. Thank you for your answer. 😀
p
Okay, then it sounds like there's nothing weird going on (… other than the error existing, of course).

@proud-jewelry-46860 Hello, I tried to re-install Rancher Desktop. It was a success. But there is no menu for Kubernetes Settings and Supporting Utilities. Do you have any advice?
Sorry, I confused. I think the menu moves to the preference menu.
p
Hi! Yeah, some things are moved into the prefs window (which is also opened via the gear icon near the top right corner of the main window).
