can elemental be used to add a node to an existing k3s cluster (looks like it'd require rancher, or maybe I can install the operator without rancher?) It's probably best to extend the cluster 'the old way' (debian / k3s install script)

hi Matthew, for now the elemental-operator is coupled to Rancher, so the straight forward answer is this is not possible. Also all OS images we publish assume there will be an upstream cluster to register too.
