I keep having an issue where longhorn volumes are failing. I suspect that the issue comes from an IO bottleneck. I am using samsung ssd but they are running on a normal SATA connection so total throughput is throttled to 6Gb/s. Regardless, I can't seem to find a good configuration for longhorn. I have removed data locality requirements awhile ago, I can't remember why but when I did it I had performed a lot of research and concluded it was the right decision. Now I am questioning whether I should move back to best-effort. Additionally, I am curious about expanding the manager and replica manager cpu limits beyond 12%. Rebuild take a really long time but I observe that IO usage on the disks is quite low. 12MB/s being the max across all 12 nodes most are 6 or less. Any thoughts on what I could tune? I have a 40Gb/s network running QSFP+ via Mellanox and I have confirmed the network is no where near saturated
