Hi Peter, the name of Elemental Teal as you were guessing is just an official derivative based on SLE Micro distro created using Elemental Toolkit. In fact we are fading out this name as it turned to be confusing. In fact in our latest release we are simply using SLE Micro for Rancher as name. This would be the image referenced as

<http://registry.suse.com/suse/sle-micro/5.5:2.0.2|registry.suse.com/suse/sle-micro/5.5:2.0.2>

. So basically are renaming Elemental Teal to the name of the underlying distribution, which is SLE Micro in this case. I'd say you should only consider building custom images if the already provided images are missing some functionality or configuration you'd like to have (e.g. some specific drivers or third party packages). In such a case I'd suggest just building a derived image based on our releases as documented here.

I have followed something similar to that previously without success, but I note the doco there has been updated, so I'll run through it and see how I get on. Thanks for the response
