Should be ok if it's a single node and you don't use etcd. If the hostname changes you'll need to delete the orphaned node with the old name though.

Hmm okay, I'll give it a try with K3s. Thanks! I have previously tried using kubeadm (via Kubespray/Ansible) to bring up a single node/master and that didn't like the ip changing

etcd hates it when IPs change. kine doesn’t care.
