@quaint-airline-20784 I am really sorry your build flow broke because of the images renaming. We are renaming from SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro to SUSE Linux Micro, so all images got renamed. In addition, we are preparing flavored images for upcoming releases (baremetal, kvm, rt and base), so the generic image including all firmware is no called baremetal image. Note that
Staging
project is not the stable project of Elemental. Stable Elemental releases are shipped from
<http://suse.com|suse.com>
domain. In
Staging
is where we prepare the builds for upcoming releases, hence is this is subject to change at any time. May I ask you how your build flow is actually consuming the ISO images? Our main use case is pulling ISO images also from the OCI registry as any other Elemental artifact and looks like you are applying a different approach. Pulling them as regular downloads from the stable locations might be a bit more convoluted as under
<http://suse.com|suse.com>
repositories are not browse-able and there is no
latest
concept in there. Would something like having a list of released ISO URLs be handy for your use case?

@sticky-tailor-45974 is the SLE Micro rename to SL Micro an Elemental specific rename or a wider SUSE thing?
q
@sticky-tailor-45974 Thanks for your answer. My flow is a gitlab pipeline downloading this iso, patching the rancher target uri and uploading it to vmware so i can create cluster specific nodes with it. Yes a list of uris would be helpful and a place in the support matrix https://www.suse.com/suse-rancher/support-matrix/all-supported-versions/rancher-v2-7-0/#el-48852 would also be important for us
s
@quaint-airline-20784 I see, makes sense. We'll try to figure out some way to actually provide a machine consumable list of downloadable images.
@witty-jelly-95845 This rename is not elemental specific, we just adapt to the underlaying OS we build on top. So it is a wider change.
w
Thanks @sticky-tailor-45974, guess you're ahead of any SL(E) announcements!

@quaint-airline-20784 To follow up on your issues, here is where the actual SLE Micro for Rancher v2.0.2 image is actually released: https://updates.suse.com/SUSE/Products/Elemental/5.5/x86_64/iso/sle-micro.x86_64-2.0.2-GM.iso We are in the meantime preparing a maintenance update for this image. We will look on how to make more prominent where to locate stable downloadable images (probably something in the spirit of release notes) and eventually figure out how to list them. Note updates.suse.com domain is not browseable. In addition the glitches your realized on staging repository are being fixed, hopefully tomorrow all the builds will be there. However note that staging does not contain stable images and hence they are prone to change without advise, this is the playground where we prepare upcoming releases.
q
Ok, thank you. For what GM now stands for?
s
If I am not wrong stands for Gold Master, I am not personally involved in this process hence I might be not fully precise.
w
Yes, Gold Master i.e release
