An interesting experiment you might perform: poll this slack space, github, and the rancher forum for questions or issues without an answer. Rancher is in desperate need of a mid-tier support structure where we can pay for answers to critical questions, but don't require white-glove 6-7 figure/year support.
Personal example:
https://rancher-users.slack.com/archives/C896QJRPE/p1710368426740819. This issue is causing huge headaches for me personally right now. I fully believe there are experts at rancher that could figure this out in 5-10 minutes, but I can't afford access to them and other strangers like me don't have the time to offer suggestions.
The assumption with Rancher is that it's an enterprise grade open source project. The reality is that you're going to run into the same janky issues you will with any open source project and you're going to be forced to rely on good will from strangers across the world. If you're stuck with the same janky issues, why add more layers and why not master vanilla k8s?
