Hi @strong-room-85296! If you have a K3s cluster that is going to run just Rancher on top, then both methods will give you similar results. Rancher backup operator takes care of backing up the Rancher application so other apps running on the same K3s cluster are not covered. If you want to backup the K3s cluster as a whole (including Rancher and any other app) then use k3s etcd snapshot feature. My recommendation is to use both, given how simple is to set them up and the fact that it's not something that consumes a lot of space/resources. Having said that remember that, for production use cases, it's recommended that no other app is running in the cluster where the Rancher Management application is deployed. Hope it helps ...
