Got it figured out. At least with Rancher 2.7.9 when creating a custom cluster with vSphere cloud provider the cluster initiation doesn't start before there is nodes added with all roles. E.g. I first added only a node with control-plane and etcd roles, the cluster and the rancher-system-agent just sat there doing nothing..no error messages no nothing.. Only when I added another node with worker role the control-plane started its magic, delivered the nodes and cluster was up and running. I don't remember to face this issue before? Have I missed something or what?
