12/13/2023, 4:44 PMWe (rke2/k3s) put out a release for every Kubernetes patch release, usually within a week or so. Rancher has their own schedule for publishing metadata to make new versions available in their UI. Rancher does not currently support 1.28+, and their release of metadata with patch updates for supported minor versions can lag a month or more behind.

12/13/2023, 8:09 PMthey have a lot of testing to do, since they need to validate Rancher functionality on all the supported platforms - gke, eks, aks, and so on. All we have to do is update some versions, built, and test that.
