Or did it create a huge hibrfile.sys I turn off all that with
powercfg.exe /hibernate off
i
I have hibernation turned off
b
So is the hibernation file present in C:\? Or you only have a small allocation for Windows? Sure it's not WSL2 and it's images using space?
i
yes. it's images. I have already moved WSL2 to D drive
b
Then should be fine now as that's where the Rancher Desktop Alpine image resided?
i
Going for a fresh/clean install of WSL2 and Rancher Desktop. Right now, pods keep failing to start... mostly want of resources!!
b
What is your hardware setup?
i
Lenovo P15 has 32 GB RAM/512SSD
C got 100GB .. rest in D and boot sectors/swaps
b
That should rock along nicely with Rancher-Desktop. Virtualization enable etc? Are other applications using resources (Task Manager)? You can configure WSL2 to set the ram, cores etc to use <https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/wsl-config#main-wsl-settings>?
i
Thanks. Didn't know that. Let me try.
b
Depending on what your trying 2-4 cores and 8GB of ram should be fine.
I set the .wslconfig to 4 cores and 8GB of RAM (Windows 11 Pro for Workstation)
