Hi you install WSL2 and Rancher Desktop on the host machine, not in a VM? FYI, you should be posting in #rancher-desktop 😉
h
Rancher is not installed on the host machine. WSL2 is. I wondered where to post this. I did it here due to it being titled a "Kubernetes Error".
b
So you can install Rancher-Desktop there as well. You don't need the virtual machine...
h
I was using a virtual machine so that I could install/uninstall completely for documentation purposes. Once it's installed I'm unsure if the uninstall process removes EVERYTHING or not. I'm also installing SQL and SSMS along with some proprietary software and documenting each step of the process. So I was trying to have a clean way to uninstall everything at each step.
In fact, I did have all of the systems I mentioned above installed on my local machine until I needed to go backwards in the process and realized there were all kinds of vestiges of the installs left behind.
b
Then I would head over to #rancher-desktop and ask there about nested virtualization and if it would work, and also a comment about your cleanup concerns...
