Actually, it was spinning trying to start up kubernetes so I did a factory reset, when that didn't work, I uninstalled/reinstalled and then it stopped opening. Is there a more full uninstall method? Maybe I'm just not getting it all.
Found the rdcli tool but that didn't ouput any info, even in debug mode. But, I fixed it, sorta! I deleted the folders in AppData/Roaming and AppData/Local I also deleted the .kube folder. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled rancher desktop (rebooting between each one) Now I get a wsl error when I start up
Copy code
Error: wsl.exe exited with code 4294967295
I'm thinking this has something to do with using the latest (windows preview) WSL2 (version 2.0.0) for its networking mirrored mode (only way I can use WSL2 on my company's VPN.
Still, I can use docker commands in WSL so I'm not sure what exactly is complaining. I've disabled
kubernetes
for now and calling this a win. Maybe this will help someone?
Fixed that with this https://stackoverflow.com/a/71044170 Now I'm back to stuck at "Initializing Rancher Desktop" 6 minutes and counting.
