Hello guys im trying to import an rke k8 cluster v1.24 as a generic cluster in rancher v2.7.3 and once i run the rancher agent install script on my rke cluster the agent is stuck with the below message:

Requesting kubelet certificate regeneration

i have tried rebuilding the rke cluster and re-installling the agent i still keep getting the same error. any ideas on what i could be doing wrong? note im creating rke cluster using the rke cli and not through rancher.
