Even if no DNS, avoiding localhost and or *.localdomain is probably a good idea, because pods consider themselves to be localhost from within their running containers, so sometimes things can be tweaked to work and sometimes it can cause issues so if you can stay away from it altogether you'll reduce one possible area for failure and/or confusion.
