This is a bit strange. First,
socket_vmnet
is normally found at
/Applications/Rancher <http://Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/resources/darwin/lima/socket_vmnet/bin/socket_vmnet|Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/resources/darwin/lima/socket_vmnet/bin/socket_vmnet>
and shouldn't be in your path -- Rancher Desktop will find it. The only exception (that I can think of -- there are probably others) is that there's an instance of
networks-config.yaml
in your LIMA_HOME directory, which is normally
~/Library/Application Support/rancher-desktop/lima
Secondly, you can restore the path by going into Rancher Desktop preferences, and ensuring
Application | Environment | Configure PATH
is set to
Automatic
. You'll need to refresh any terminal/iTerm/etc. tabs that are open and from which you plan on interacting with any of the Rancher Desktop utilities
If there are still problems, I would enable admin access at
Application | General | Administrative Access
