Is this the first time you are trying to install Rancher Desktop? What's your Windows configuration? Does it meet the minimum requirements as stated here? Can you please share the log files? You can find the log files at
%USERPROFILE%//AppData/Local/rancher-desktop/logs
?

hello, thanks for getting back. I believe that I meet the min requirements. I am using Windows 11. I had to follow this to get it to work by installing Linux on my own: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/70953842/error-wsl-exe-exited-with-code-4294967295-on-installing-rancher-desktop by running
Copy code
wsl --update
which log file are you looking for?
hi, any help from an employee on this issue?
r
From your message, I thought you could get it working using
wsl --update
. Rancher Desktop installs WSL as part of the installation if WSL is not available on your machine already. It looks like you already have a version (may be from Windows store) of WSL installed on your machine that needed an update to work with Rancher Desktop? Looking at the logs might provide some insights. Can you please share all logs at
%USERPROFILE%//AppData/Local/rancher-desktop/logs
?
Also, What do you see when you run the commands
wsl --version
and
wsl -l -v
?

hi @rapid-eye-50641, could you share your email so that I can verify your identity as I send you my logs? I am not sure if I should share it openly here as I am afraid that it may contain confidental information about my PC. I have tried
wsl --update
and it says WSL The most recent version of Windows Subsystem for Linux is already installed. Here is what I see with the commands (currently still trying to start Rancher Desktop v1.9.1 and it still says Updating kubeconfig after 6 mins:
