did you install the aarch version or the x86 version? guessing you just grabbed the wrong release at some point?

I thought I did at first. But it started after an automatic update of a version that worked fine.
After that I double checked each time that I was downloading and installing the aarch64 version.
Could there be some left-over in some application support directory?

you could go through an wipe things clean. I think the factory reset basically does that, but it sounds like you can't even get the UI opened.
