I probably may not have an answer for you, but it may help if you can tell which specific app(s) you are talking about

Rancher Helm Apps. If you upgrade from a version below 2.7 to a version from 2.7 & up, all the Rancher Helm Apps move to the Legacy Apps section of the Rancher Dashboard. This implies a lot of downsides & lack of usability, including not being able to upgrade those Helm Charts anymore, which is an absolutely essential feature.

are those helm2 installs or helm charts? If so you can migrate to helm3 and then they should show up under the Apps section

The catalogs are marked Helm v3 since it was announced, that the previous version is not going to be supported any longer. This means, the charts were Helm v3 at least one year, before the Rancher upgrade was performed.
Okay, I looked it up & it seems like Helm v2 Charts are still supported in Helm v3 catalogs. I will now look up, whether the Charts themselves are Helm v3.
After an investigation, it was found out, that the charts were upgraded to Helm v3 a long time ago but then were downgraded back to Helm v2, because Rancher couldn't handle it & bugged out hard. However, this still does not make full sense, since Helm v2 is officially not supported by Rancher since 2020 & yet, when those charts are installed anew in Rancher 2.7.1 & 2.7.4, then they land in the correct Apps section, where all new charts land in. Why don't they land in the Legacy Apps section? So much in the Rancher UI just does not make much sense. I'm now onto trying out different ways of making this work, including the too many times mentioned Longhorn conversion script, which is way less helpful compared to how many times it was already mentioned (& that wasn't even that many times).
