You mean the trivial manual steps for cluster-level backup & restore? As mentioned in the doc, since v1.4.0, there is an in-box feature helps simply backup the whole Longhorn system or restore an existing one to a new Longhorn system.

Dang! Why did I overlook that. Awesome! I wasn’t aware that the system restore could be used for the
<http://volumes.longhorn.io|volumes.longhorn.io>
type objects ( thereby the actual data ) … I thought it was specifically for Longhorn controller, webhooks and what not.
I’ll look into that … if it can be used for my scenario of migrating volumes to a new cluster … shouldn’t the Longhorn documentation on cluster migration with velero - this > https://longhorn.io/docs/1.4.2/advanced-resources/system-backup-restore/restore-to-a-new-cluster-using-velero/ mention that one should just use the
longhorn system restore
????
Thanks 🙏
Okay @famous-shampoo-18483 I see that the new system restore docs mentions that before v1.4.0 there’s the https://longhorn.io/docs/1.4.2/advanced-resources/system-backup-restore/restore-to-a-new-cluster-using-velero/ way. Would be great if https://longhorn.io/docs/1.4.2/advanced-resources/system-backup-restore/restore-to-a-new-cluster-using-velero/ refers to the new way if one is at or above v1.4.0
