A quick look seems like maybe you need to specify it as an insecure registry or register the CA used to sign the SSL cert on Nexus where nerdctl knows to look?

Thanks for your answer, how do I specify an insecure registry?

Check
man nerdctl
or
nerdctl --help
or google? I know docker & podman commands & config files specify it differently, so nerdctl might follow either or its own way.
(I know what nerdctl is, but I haven't needed to use it, so unsure about its specific syntax)
