I can't comment on specific dates for 1.26 support. Rancher 2.7 doesn't support it either. You'll likely need to restore your Rancher instance to a new cluster running a supported version.

@agreeable-oil-87482 thanks a lot for your information. Would it be enough to set up a new cluster with a new rancher instance and restore the etcd from my rancher managed cluster? Because I think that would be easier than restore the whole rancher instance.

The preferred way is to use the rancher backup operator. A pure etcd backup to a new cluster will probably cause you issues as you'll have new nodes with different IPs etc

I tried to restore it to a new cluster with GKE 1.24 and followed the migration guide. But the restore process is logging a lot of errors... What could be wrong here?
