Hi @freezing-holiday-13112, Oh, that shouldn't be the case. Have you already tried to do a Factory Reset? - If not, would it be something you could try?

i would also make sure that the integration flag for that WSL distro is still enabled in your 1.8 install. if it is maybe toggle it off and on again to reset the links.

Thank you! I tried those but ultimately had to uninstall and then reinstall and got it back
Mmm the reinstall has issues though

I've been having similar issues with WSL lately, including
docker compose
no longer working (had to revert back to
docker-compose
)
I do still have helm/kubectl though

The reinstall has this issues that I don't know how to clear Installing rancher-desktop 1.8.1 I get this error. Any way to get out of this? I've tried reinstalling twice now 2023-04-14T17:42:09.468Z: WSL: executing: /bin/sh -c [ -e /etc/os-release ] && . /etc/os-release ; echo ${VERSION_ID:-0.1}: Error: wsl.exe exited with code 4294967295

Man I have disabled, reenabled WSL. Uninstalled, reinstalled rancher-desktop. Tried winsock reset and still to no avail. Same error each time

Have you seen https://stackoverflow.com/a/71054874 ? The question mentions the same error code.
Okay, I think I now have the same issue on my environment. The link above doesn't help.
